1st Grade supply list

Please provide these following items for your 1st grader on the first day of school:

  • 1 set of black whiteboard markers (not Crayola brand)
  • 1 standard size cloth pencil pouch
  • 2 pencils
  • 1 pocket folder
  • 1 set of sturdy headphones
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 2 erasers
  • 1 box of 16-24 crayons (standard colors)
  • 1 small scissors
  • 1 sturdy, full-sized, traditional backpack 

If you would like to donate the following items to the classroom, we would appreciate it. The items are as follows:

1st grade expectations

Incoming 1st Graders should be able to:


  • Your child should be able to read and write the following sight words:
    • I, see, the, like, did, a, you, me, up, can, in, my, to, said, no, go, do, yes, am, it, and, at, is, on, are
  • Recognize and pronounce all letters and sounds
  • Able to write one complete sentence on their own, using correct capitals, finger spaces, and ending punctuation
  • Identify the title and author of a book
  • Differentiate between letters, words, and sentences
  • Identify and pronounce rhyming words
  • Blend CVC words (cat)
  • Write letters correctly using proper formation (starting at the top) and size


  • Count to 100 by ones and tens
  • Write numbers up to 20
  • Identify numbers from 0 to 20 out of order
  • Add and subtract to ten
  • Identify common shapes
  • Solve simple oral word problems using addition and subtraction to ten
