1st Grade supply list
Please provide these following items for your 1st grader on the first day of school:
- 1 set of black whiteboard markers (not Crayola brand)
- 1 standard size cloth pencil pouch
- 2 pencils
- 1 pocket folder
- 1 set of sturdy headphones
- 2 glue sticks
- 2 erasers
- 1 box of 16-24 crayons (standard colors)
- 1 small scissors
- 1 sturdy, full-sized, traditional backpack
If you would like to donate the following items to the classroom, we would appreciate it. The items are as follows:

1st grade expectations
Incoming 1st Graders should be able to:
Reading/Writing:
- Your child should be able to read and write the following sight words:
- I, see, the, like, did, a, you, me, up, can, in, my, to, said, no, go, do, yes, am, it, and, at, is, on, are
- Recognize and pronounce all letters and sounds
- Able to write one complete sentence on their own, using correct capitals, finger spaces, and ending punctuation
- Identify the title and author of a book
- Differentiate between letters, words, and sentences
- Identify and pronounce rhyming words
- Blend CVC words (cat)
- Write letters correctly using proper formation (starting at the top) and size
Math:
- Count to 100 by ones and tens
- Write numbers up to 20
- Identify numbers from 0 to 20 out of order
- Add and subtract to ten
- Identify common shapes
- Solve simple oral word problems using addition and subtraction to ten
