OPEN ENROLLMENT FAQ

FAQs:

Q: How will I know if Open Enrollment has begun?

A: We will post the Open Enrollment dates on the school website once they have been announced. You may also call the school office to inquire.

Q: Do I need to bring any documentation to Open Enrollment?

A: No, to place your student on the Waiting List, you do not need to bring any documentation. There will be a form available for you to fill out and once your student has been offered enrollment, there will be further instructions as to what else is needed.

Q: How soon can I put my child on the Waiting List for Kindergarten?

A: Open Enrollment will begin in the early Spring of the year they start school. (for example if your student will be starting Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year, you will place your student on the waiting list in early Spring  of 2024)

Q: How do I know if my child should enroll in Kindergarten or Transitional Kindergarten(TK)?

A: In order to qualify for Kindergarten for the 24/25 school year, your child must turn five years-old by September 1, 2024.

If your child turns five years-old between September 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025, your child qualifies for the Transitional Kindergarten class for the 24/25 school year.

Q: Do I have to live in Hesperia?

A: While Krystal School is able to enroll students from outside of Hesperia, preference is given to those who live inside Hesperia School District boundaries.

If you are unsure of how to determine if you are within the HUSD boundaries, please visit http://www.schoolworksgis.com/HUSD/schoollocator.html

Q: What if my student has a family member already enrolled?

A: While Krystal does enroll siblings of those students currently enrolled on a priority basis, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate cousins, aunts, uncles or other extended family members at this time. The regular process of Open Enrollment and the Lottery will apply to all instances other than a sibling currently enrolled.
